The UKs Young Gamers and Gambling Education Trust (YGAM) has unveiled its “Parent Hub” website, designed to furnish parents of young gamers with more details about secure online gaming.
YGAM has introduced a brand new Parent Hub website to supply parents of young gamers with more information about safe online gaming.
The website provides a lexicon of gaming terminology and guides to assist parents in better comprehending the mechanics of the games their children engage in.
YGAM’s Operations Director, Kev Clealend, stated: “Our primary concern is to safeguard children and young people developing in the realm of online gaming. A crucial aspect of this is demystifying video games for parents, emphasizing the numerous positive experiences they can present, while raising their awareness of potentially harmful aspects.
“The Parent Hub will equip parents with the knowledge and understanding to aid their children in navigating the world of gaming securely and safely.”
The unveiling of the website aligns with YGAM’s dedication to enhancing education within the gaming realm. Earlier this month, it advocated for educational support to be incorporated into the Gambling Act review.
Amanda Atkinson, YGAM’s Head of Parent Programme Delivery, added: “It’s fantastic to launch the newly designed Parent Hub this week.
Weve collaborated with guardians, players, youth, scholars, and instructors to construct a website that provides parents with a wealth of information and assistance without being overwhelming or perplexing. It’s been a truly engaging journey.
